Park managers have just over a month remaining to nominate their park as the best in the UK with Briggs & Stratton’s Britain’s Best Park Competition.

This is the 7th year of the competition, which in 2008 saw Mowbray Park in Sunderland scoop the prestigious prize.

Speaking about the competition, Briggs & Stratton’s business development manager, Ian Small, said: “We want to find the most attractive, well-maintained, accessible and community-friendly public spaces in the UK, and reward the hard work that goes into maintaining them.”

Eight regional finalists will be selected from a panel of well-respected judges who will decide the overall winner. Prizes will include the coveted title of ‘Best Park in Britain’, a plaque to display within the park grounds and a certificate to mark the achievement. In addition the winning park will benefit from a host of regional and national publicity.

No matter the size of the park, if you think it’s a worthy winner we want to hear from you. Parks will be judged on criteria including, environment, design, usability, maintenance and accessibility.

The ultimate winner will go on to compete for the title of Europe’s Best Park also sponsored by Briggs & Stratton, where they will be up against parks located in Germany, France, Sweden, Poland and Italy.
