Briggs & Stratton, the world’s largest manufacturer of 4-stroke air-cooled petrol engines for the lawn and garden market, will introduce its new E-SERIES Engine Initiative that provides engines with lower emissions performance plus more feature choices at IOG Saltex 2011.

A range of small vertical shaft engines which are at least 25% below current European Exhaust Emissions Standards* make up the new E-SERIES Engine Initiative. Offering more feature options, providing the end user with a wider choice. Two new ECO PLUS engines will also be added to the range.

The E-SERIES Initiative focuses on an overall evolution of standards that will widen consumer choice and enhance their mowing experience, offering better sound, easier starting and lower emissions all delivered with the hallmark qualities of power, performance and reliability that have become synonymous with the Briggs & Stratton brand.

Between now and the end of 2014 all Briggs & Stratton small vertical shaft engines will perform to the new E-SERIES standards.

The new 700 SERIES utility engine, the latest addition to the popular 550 SERIES horizontal shaft engine range, will also be launched. The 550 SERIES has been extremely popular in the market and it is expected that the new 700 will have a similar impact. The company expects these compact yet powerful utility engines to deliver a new performance position in the market.
