Westland Horticulture has extended the lawncare season in the development of its latest unique autumn lawn feed and conditioner.

More than 14% of lawncare activity takes place during the autumn. One of the key tasks during this time is to condition the grass so it can survive the winter and be in good condition for spring. To make this as simple as possible Westland has introduced Autumn & Winter Lawn Enhancer.

What makes it unique is that it contains a natural living organism that dramatically increases active root mass by up to 700 times. It significantly improves nutrient and water uptake, the grass becomes more resilient against wear and tear and water drains away easily, reducing the drastic effects of water logging and compaction.

Consumers are deliberately seeking out products that produce great results without the task becoming a laborious and stressful activity. By introducing native mycorrhizal fungi into these new granules it significantly develops and strengthens the root development in order to produce a great looking lawn from September through to March.

Just like Westland’s leading brand Aftercut, it’s quick & easy to use. Simply apply after mowing to produce a greener healthier lawn in days.

Other keys benefits include:

·         Toughens and thickens lawns
·         Greens over winter for a richer greener lawn
·         Quick and easy to use as no watering is required
·         Incorporates strength into every blade of grass
·         Can be used near children and pets

“We recognised that there was a gap in the market for a pure enhancement product that works effectively during the autumn and winter season,” says Westland Horticulture’s Danielle McBride, who is product manager for the lawn care category.

“Autumn lawncare is not just about controlling moss, it’s also about getting the best lawn possible. We’ve designed a product that does not leave behind unsightly bare patches in the lawn, which can happen when mixed with moss killer. Autumn & Winter Lawn Enhancer will give gardeners a visibly greener and healthier lawn to withstand the stress of winter.”

The 3.5kg handheld spreader and box will cover an area measuring 100m2 and can be purchased from August 2009.
