The search is on to find the UK’s ‘Greatest British Lawn’ that best exemplifies a centerpiece of any garden, with the launch of Briggs & Stratton’s Britain’s Best Lawn Competition.

The competition is open to anyone living in the UK with £2000 worth of lawnmower equipment and a day’s expert advice up for grabs.
Speaking about the competition Briggs & Stratton’s business development manager, Ian Small said: “This is a fantastic competition which really accentuates the importance of the British lawn and the work that goes into maintaining it.”
Dr Robert Strachan was delighted with his prize, nonetheless because he had already been using a Ransomes Marquis lawnmower with a 1982 Briggs & Stratton engine to keep his lawn in tiptop condition.
“I am delighted to win a brand new Briggs & Stratton powered lawnmower, my last one never failed to start or broke down,” said Dr Strachan.
“My advice to other gardener’s looking to maintain their lawn and perhaps enter this competition is; to not project your obsessive tendencies on the garden, rather let it cure them. Make it a source fitness and self esteem and remember above all remember a thing of beauty is a joy forever!”
